About us

Alec Johnson, MT-BC, is a music therapist and educator from Big Bear Lake, California. Alec discovered his joy for building community and self-sufficient living through his experience in agroforestry.

He later honed his skills at Berklee College of Music in Boston and Spain where he studied Neurologic Music Therapy, advanced guitar theory, and entrepreneurship. Alec integrates music therapy with self-sustaining food production to foster holistic health and resilience.

Alec's mission is to help people equip themselves to lead fulfilling and cost-effective lives through musical tools and robust local food systems.

Guard Goose Music Therapy

Guard Goose Music Therapy draws its name and philosophy from the guard goose: a symbol of protection, resilience, and community. Just as a guard goose safeguards its flock with vigilance and care, our mission is to create a safe and empowering space for individuals to grow, heal, and connect through music.

At the heart of our work is the belief that music is a powerful tool for transformation—helping people find strength within themselves, build meaningful relationships, and develop resilience in the face of challenges. Whether through therapeutic music sessions, lessons, or community engagement, Guard Goose Music Therapy strives to foster harmony and growth, both individually and collectively.
